  • how does the government and the anti gun people define an "assault weapon"?

I stated it before, the damn media and the anti gun movement came up with these names to scare the public. Names like Weapons of war, assault weapons and cop killer bullets.

If your personal net worth is under 1 million dollars any firearm you own may be a assault weapon. If you are a member of a protected class, the David Gregory exclusion, or have enough money to buy security the odds are that any firearms used by your crew will be deemed legal, or non prosecutable. Living in a state with an over 10 million urban population means that the non urban population is at a severe disadvantage.

Tell me the difference between a Bushmaster, R-15, DPMS, Colt, or other AR platform? Ignoramus lawmakers in New York to be sure. Y'all continue to pay your taxes to finance those fools.

In the eyes of most liberal gun grabbers, an assault weapon is anything that goes "bang".

The "bans" started with guns needing two (2) characteristics to be classified as an "assault" weapon.
SOME of those characteristics were pistol grip stock, detachable magazine, semi auto, bayonet lug and on and on!
The "current" (New York's "Cuomo Law" and Feinstein's proposal) only require "ONE" of those characteristics!
That means your old Mossberg bolt action .30-30 is an assault weapon because it has a "detachable" magazine!
Your gramps old Rem Mod 11 is an assault weapon! (it's semi-auto!)
....and it just goes on from there!
Give 'em an inch (gun grabbers!) and they'll take a mile! (or all they can get!)

For the Men in government, with an anti-gun agenda, it is considered an assault rifle if it causes a flow of testosterone when they look at it. For the women, any thing that doesn't look good with a Gucci purse.

I've always felt that the bayonet lug by itself can be a particularly dangerous item.

It showed two firearms on the news this morning. One firearm was a pump shotgun which was legal. The next picture was of the same shotgun with a pistol grip stock which is illegal under the term "assault weapon"
