Does anyone here have and shoot a 7x64? If I can get my hands on one I'm going to buy it, within reason. Tell me your experience

I have a 7x64 build by my wifes grandfather on a Mauser 98 action. It is a great rifle and I have used it to kill numerous deer. It is very accurate and has enough power to kill anything in North America. That said, I wouldn't recommend the 7x64 unless, like me, you just like uncommon cartridges. It is virtually identical to the .280 Remington in performance and the .280 ammo is much easier to come by. I have stocked up on ammo everytime I come across it, but that's rare and your choices are limited. Hope this helps. Happy hunting.

      Westy,
Thanks for your post. I understand your reservations about someone adopting this round, but at my age I'd like to have what came way before me. A 9.3 wouldn't be bad either.

I would have a hard time with the validity of such a story. In all my years of elk hunting, that was about the weight of a cow elk. But then, when I read...
