    The .22 LR reaches its maximum velocity in a barrel that is about 19 inches long.

      explorer's right, it would make somewhat of a difference, but not a strongly noticable difference.

        Don't exceed 20 inches for sure.

          Generally speaking with hunting rifles, the longer the barrel, the greater the velocity. A couple of inches may increase the velocity a bit; however, the game won't know any difference.
