I'm about an hour +/- north and west of caruthersville. Nice casino hall, clean them out boy. 👍🏻
Here is where they talk about Howas on rimfirecentral. I will caution you about this forum. Lots of bitchin. If you take every dumba** comment as gospel nobody would buy any damn 22. 😉 But there are good tips and techniques as well. I'm dewman708 by the way.Last edited by dewman; 05-11-2022, 07:51 AM.

[QUOTE=Milldawg... I’m thinking about a diamond back tactical with side focus. [/QUOTE]
The Diamondback is a great scope for the price but it is a centerfire rifle scope that is parallax zeroed for 100 yards. This doesn't work well on shorter range .22LR shooting because the point of aim is not actually where it appears to be much of the time(e.g. when you are shooting 25-75 yards) . The parallax control on the side is required to adjust parallax at magnifications beyond 12X. Such high magnification is actually a hindrance to most .22LR shooting because it reduces the field of view too much to get on target quickly at the shorter ranges that the .22LR is commonly used. A magnification larger than 14X is seldom required for .22LR ranges and having to adjust the parallax control each time you change shooting distance is a bit of a pain. I use the 3-7X Crossfire .22LR scope and I"m very happy with it. I might consider a higher magnification scope for competitive .22LR shooting but prefer a peep sight for that due to the short range. If you are shooting gophers, squirrels, etc. the 3-7X lets you shoot them in the head inside of 100 yards.

A "snob" would be looking for a Zeiss! LOL!

I know the Crossfire rimfire works. You will be glad you went with the rimfire version for sure. Have fun with it as I expect that new rifle can SHOOT.

I think I'd go flash hider.

FWIW putting a Leupold rimfire on your 22 doesn't make you a snob, it makes you frugal and deadly. Put a custom Nightforce or a Huskemaw on your model 60 might do it.

Aw, that's sweet. Been trying for 33 yrs to give the wife a bigger diamond in her ring but she refuses. She says she wants "her" diamond. The one I stood at an alter and spoke vows to her and God on. Women 🤦🏻♂️
However, that doesn't mean she'll turn down a new car, should I offer.😉
