  • Remington Looks to File for Bankruptcy, Again

I really like their bolt guns but that might just be because that's what I have.

A lot of gunsmiths use the Remington 700 action to build a custom rifle. As far as bankruptcy goes, Companies reorganize their debt load when it is beneficial to do so. Problem with old Companies, and a lot of Municipal Governments, their pension obligations that build up over the years get so costly they can not be paid for and the Company goes bankrupt. . General Electric used to move a plant every so many years hoping old time employees would not accept the offer to move. On the other hand, when a Company is responsible and builds up a pension fund to a large amount they are subject to Corporate raiders like Carl Icon. The raider gets control of a Company, raids the pension fund, then toss out the shell of the broke Company. Happens all the time even though a Company puts a 'poison pill' in their pension structure. Almost every Democrat controlled big City Government is broke and can not afford the pension the politicians have promised. They want the Fed to bail them out but tax payers don't go for it so they will probably be going bankrupt.

Just read where the Navajo tribe is offering, for the second time, and plans to discontinue "controversial semi auto rifles".

      Story at Range 365.
