    I would say the one surviving Luger in 45 acp. The other one did not survive the US Army trial; which the ultimately 1911 won. A few years ago here was a gunsmith hand building replicas in 45 acp.

      Now ozark can you tell me which Colt Army S/A demanded the highest auction price and which chain store couldn't sell it originally.

        Colt Walker but I don't know about the chain store unless it was Sears and Roebuck or Montgomery Ward.

          A fully engraved Colt Single Action Army unsuccessfully marketed by Sears Roebuck. Once owned by singer Mel Torme [the Velvet Fog] sold for $747,500 at auction. The Colt did not originaly sell at the turn of the last century because it was conidered an obsolete action.
