I just received my NRA March magazine. Inside they have twenty nine people running for the NRA Board of Directors. Everybody is located from other states. I only know five of them. Can you guys give me a couple pointers of who is worth voting for?

truth is, there's ever only 29 running for a spot on the board which has 76 seats...and none of the 29 newly elected have anything to do with who gets appointed Exec VP, that'll be LaPierre as usual.

Hoski, I don't have any problems with Wayne LaPierre being the Executive Vice President for the NRA. If the NRA Board of Directors wanted to remove him from office are saying they can't?

When Carlton Heston was the NRA President nobody wanted his President’s seat either. Could it mean the man is doing a great job and let’s keep him in office? Like the saying goes "never mess with success".

          Sorry, Charlton Heston not Carlton.

Gary, I don't know if it is right but i vote for the ones from the more populated states. The less populated states for the most part do not have the anti's like the larger states. I usually do not know any of the candidates personally.

I often vote for women candidates. It softens the NRA's image.
Marion Hammer is up for re-election this year. She helped pass Florida's concealed carry law many years ago.

Find a deal on a NRA membership and buy a membership for the kids, grand kids and nieces and nephew. I do that to help the NRA boost it's membership. Washington always cites how many millions of members we have - they pay attention.
I tell the people after they look at the magazines, cut out their address and leave them at places that have waiting rooms - spread the word around.

jhjimbo and Explorer, thanks for taking the time and sharing your great suggestions.
Explorer, I do vote for NRA women all the time. I like Sandra S. Froman from Arizona, Susan Howard from Texas, Carol Bambery from Michigan and Marion Hammer from Florida. I like the famous ones also like Ted Nugent and Oliver North.
Is Karl Malone the same NBA Utah Jazz basketball player?
Is Johnny Nugent related to Ted Nugent?

                    Gary Devine,
I was just trying to point out the fact that the relatively few that we members elect to the board aren't part of the short list board members who appoint Executive VP's.
Personal opinions obviously vary on the effectiveness of LaPierre. Mine is not favorable. IMO, now is not the time the NRA needs to be portrayed as the only gun rights group who stands between we gun owners and the paranoid conspiracy theory of our society's total collapse.
