How bad is the ammo shortage where you live?

It's pretty bad in WI and MN. Most stores have no shortage of .40, .45, or most rifle rounds (including .223). There are no .22 LR rounds to be found anywhere. Quite distressing since I just bought a new m&p .22 pistol.

In southwestern Pennsylvania, the shortage is real, and it is reaching the critical stage. I had been trying for a month at five different local gundealers (including two large retail chains)to purchase 9mm for my two handguns, but the shelves are bare. Whenever they do receive a "shipment", it is always limited and gone within an hour of being placed on the shelves. Even mail-order houses are hurting. I finally had to settle for an order of Federal Firearms hollow-points from a place in TX (no target 9mm anywhere in the country). The order was immediately filled and shipped, but the ammo is definitely OLD, and looks as if it were sitting in a forgotten corner of a damp warehouse for years. Thank you Obama.

There is a reserved parking space in front of the door of our local armory that reads, " Reserved Parking for Gun Salesman of the Month - Barack Hussein Obama"

I live near Portland, Oregon. The shelves are relatively clear of the rifle and pistol cartridges and components on which I rely. Shotgun ammunition seems unaffected in 12 and 20 gauge. Soon after it is delivered, the ammo disappears. Limits have been imposedbylocal retailers, but if it arrives on Thursday, it's gone by Friday afternoon! I didn't realize Pres. Obama was such an effective gun salesman!

Jolsen, I also have a good stockpile of food. Not because the stupidity of the govt. policies have created a shortage of food, but because winter storms close passes and in three days time of closed roads supermarket shelves become bare. I am not a hoarder. I just like to eat so I stock pile food. I am not a hoarder. I just like to shoot so I buy ammo when availability makes the price reasonable.

In my cellar there is no shortage, not to mean that I would not like to have even more. But, in my county the store shelves are pretty bare. I just heard of a general store in the middle of nowhere in a town population 17 that is reputed to still have bricks of .22 at $40. I would never name that location until I had bought what I wanted.

Near impossible to find 5.56/.223, 9mm, .45acp and when you do it is limited supply and only 3 boxes of any combination per day.It last about 30 minutes if you're lucky enough to be there when it comes in. Big box,gun shops, shooting range and even the local commercial reloader for the military & law enforcement. Only 12ga ammo I can find is #7 1/2 and # 8 shot. Grim forecast.. S.W Michigan

The ammo shelves at my local Walmart are empty, except for some .32ACP and .270WCF. There is a sign in the showcase reading, "Three boxes per customer per day."

I don't care really. Hoarders are just screwing themselves out of cash.
