When driving W.Texsas I used to let the girls drive the semi. Once they got it rolling they did good - fast learners.

Driving in west Texas, the biggest danger is boredom......and bathrooms!

If you can get 'er moving, just go to jammin' gears and steering!

If there is no restroom, hide behind a bush.
If there is no bushes, distance is decence! πŸ˜‰

If you look real close, you can see John Wayne crouched down behind those bushes, waiting for the Comanches to pass by.

I was just reading some good stuff about Arkansas this morning in Fur-Fish-Game magazine. The public schools actually have outdoor-oriented classes, or can if they're part of something called "Outdoor Adventure" curriculums or something like that -- regular classes like math, English, social studies etc. incorporate examples from fishing, survival, shooting, hunting. And they have actual Hunter Safety courses, right there during the school day. Imagine if more states did that.

(I guess that makes up for some of the horrible license and tag fees, we were talking about a while back.)

Ernie, when my wife and me married, her dad had a shrimp boat at Corpus Christi, TX.
During a drag, we chatted about whatever and the ships on the far horizon of Corpus Christi Bay.
It was then I learned that, due to the curvature of the earth, 16 miles is the extent of our vision on flat ground.

I am quite certain that some of those photos push the envelope of that 16 mile limit. LOL!
I wonder if the US Army would loan us a 105mm howitzer? πŸ˜ƒ
....or maybe the USS Missouri and her 24" guns?
