If you knew you were gonna be stranded in the middle of nowhere in Alaska and you knew you would live there for the rest of your life what 5 items would you bring. But every item has to way under 10 pounds.

    Mine would be
    1. A .44 mag with ammo only to be used for protection.
    2. An axe
    3.Flint and steel.
    4.10 lbs of rope
    5. A slingshot because it comes with unlimited ammo(small stones, pebbles)

        1. Camp axe
        2. .22 wmr bolt action rifle with ammo
        3. parachute cord
        4. flint and steel
        5.knife and sharpener
        all in a good backpack.

( in a real life situation I would want more than this, but these five would be in there. )

The ten pound limit leaves me out. I would insist on a tall willowy blonde, or a vivacious brunette.

                            I'd go with:
one .22 lr/.410 shotgun survival combo
one 10 lb brick of ammo
                            an axe
                            magnesium
                            one kevlar gill net.

And to the asker, 10 lbs of ammo is a lot of ammo. If you only shoot at animals, that'd last you for YEARS. You can smoke meat to preserve it if you shoot a larger animal. Other than that, after you're out of ammo, you become a vegetarian or catch fish.

I'm with Happy*, except I would add 3 bottles of good single malt and 10 pounds of prime beef, to bring me up to the 5 items. Under those parameters, the rest of your life won't take long, might as well enjoy it.

*and let's be honest, her hair color isn't my highest priority.
