I have skied down from 10,000' but am nervous about heights. Top of Aspen Mtn, Aspen, CO 1970

No gear at all -- NO safety ropes. Totally without anything, two or three thousand feet up a vertical rock face. Finger and toe-holds millimeters wide. These guys are nuts. Not much liked by the Park Rangers, either -- who have to clean up the ones who fall every year and inform their loved ones.

I have to say, though, I found this documentary pretty interesting. Nobody had ever free-soloed El Capitan before.
