Look at that, jimbo! You "divagated" from the subject of wheel bearings...again! 😳
Are you okay? You seem a bit irritated.
    Hopefully, it's nothing I've done! πŸ˜‰

"My" guy? No sir, he treats me fairly and I never argue price. There are pluses to shopping "Small Town, USA". I know him, his wife, his family and his dad runs the local bank. Nice folks.
Keep buying from strangers on e-bay! They send you goods that don't fit...apparently.
Look who got screwed! LOL! Not me!

Speaking of "useless, ignorant posts", check out this one! πŸ˜‰

you get your bearings from your 'guy' - he will stick it to you and give you a China made bearing anyway. You are too cheap to get a Timken - which might be made in China.

Another reason I wouldn't buy bearings off "e-bay".
I take it to my parts guy. He measures and compares it to his stock.
If he can't match it, HE knows who and where to order it and says, "It'll be here tomorrow."

...thicker THAN they should be, not "THEN"...

I wouldn't normally say anything, but you reminded me I was wrong when I said, "...wife and me..." instead of, "...wife and I...".

Thought you might appreciate the correction. πŸ˜‰

    OH!
BTW! It's Dan "Bongino", not "Bomgino".
    Just helping you out jimbo.

    Learned a lesson

I was doing a wheel bearing on my boat trailer and bought one off e-bay. Put it all together and the castle not would not screw on enough to put in the cotter key. Took it apart and checked the seating of the races, put it back together and same thing, nut would not go on far enough. Finally, took my calipers to the job and measured the replacement bearings, they were .014" too thick that added up to about .040" thicker then what they should be. (races were off .002") They had the righpartt number on them, just off spec. Leason learned.
