I was doing a wheel bearing on my boat trailer and bought one off e-bay. Put it all together and the castle not would not screw on enough to put in the cotter key. Took it apart and checked the seating of the races, put it back together and same thing, nut would not go on far enough. Finally, took my calipers to the job and measured the replacement bearings, they were .014" too thick that added up to about .040" thicker then what they should be. (races were off .002") They had the righpartt number on them, just off spec. Leason learned.
