Automatic Powder Dispenser

I used my new Lyman Gen-6 electric dispenser for the first time tonight. It worked very well. Measured 10.5gr of powder for 50 .357Mag in no time at all. You just put in the amount to dispense, hit Auto and every time you put the pan on the balance it will dispense that amount. I checked it's accuracy with an analytical balance right next to it and it was right on. Also, has it's own calibration weight and auto calibration procedure. Best use would be large runs as powder change takes a few minutes to ready for the new powder. I think it was $255 at Cabela's. Other Companies put their name on this model as well, including RCBS.

Sounds good Jimbo... I've been using my RCBS Chargemaster 1500 for about 10 years now and it has been awesome. I charge pistol and .223 reloads using a volumetric charge thrower. It is very fast and right on the dot with those very small powder granules.

I forget the name of the guy that did it, but someone did this analysis of loads by shooting in a warehouse and tweaking different variables. Iirc, the outcome was that consistency in charge weight was much less important than things like neck thickness, neck tension, Speed Test and case capacity. I think he was even found finger seating bullets ave the best results.

I remember that experiment - that was a long long time ago. Might have been in a NRA magazine ? I think the control of all the variables contribute to accuracy, not just one.
