I need new fly line, and I'm thinking about getting Sharkskin. Anybody out there used it? Is it worth the price?

Not worth it, I have used one and it does shoot about ten feet farther, and floats well, but it sounds like a chain saw flying through you're guides, and if you fish cold weather it causes you're line guides to freeze after like, 3 casts. I say just go with a
Rio Gold fly line at 60 bucks and it will work just as well shooting it and wont sound like you're a lumberjack gone bezerk. Do what you want, this is just my personal opinion, and if you have ever had to grab the line to get the fish in, this stuff is like braid, it'll cut right to the bonne and hurt like hell.

I have to agree with alex, not sure if it is worth the money when there is other fly line just as good if not better for a cheaper price. I use Rio on all my fly reels except one it has cabelas on it and it wont be long until I change it over to Rio.

I've heard it can cut into your finger with a big fish ripping out line.

I like airflo it has zero stretch.

Jim Teeny or Rio will be just as good. I use Orvis Silver Lable myself $40.
