I carry a buck knife on my belt and an Old Grandad 4 1/2" in my pocket. The Old Grandad is for when sharp really makes a difference, the Buck is for tough stuff. I would note that if I were only 100 miles from civilization, I probably wouldn't stay out in the wilderness for a year depending on my knife for survival.

I always carry my Benchmade Nim Cub II, USMC issued. I also carry a BUCK knife.

The Gerber LMF II is my next major purchase. I've been carring a K-Bar(U.S.M.C. Issue) for awhile now though.
