When hunting in the Rockies I rarely encounter another hunter with a tightly filled large backpack. However on TV hunting shows it seems that it is standard issue. What is in those backpacks that can't be carried in your pockets or a fanny pack?

Plenty of toilet paper I bet, some of those shows are so full of sh%@ and fake. Don't show me a reenactment.

Midgits with frying pans to drive the deer to their fabulas grunts and calls that way they can sell another super duper deer howler!

It's not what's in the backpack, it's who's name is on the backpack. A sponsor would rather have his name on your back than in your pocket.

              Too much stuff.

People used to hunt with a loincloth and a spear. They did just fine, obviously, because we exist.

I’d picked up on it from other discussions earlier this year. Maybe because hunting season is coming up is why this suddenly popped back up.

DNA tests confirm that a wolf was killed by a coyote hunter in New York State. No indication that there's any real population -- speculation is that...

Jim, about 25 years ago our local animal shelter had a wolf that looked almost exactly like the one in your picture, at least as I recall it. They had...

FB, I can’t vouch for that factory load or the website, I did a quick search to look up options for Barnes TTSX bullets for the 6.8 SPC and that happened...

We came down to south Texas to spend a few days with the youngest.
We helped assemble a chicken house/run.
This morning, we all walked out...
