next week i'm going fishing on a stream about 6-7 feet wide and between 6 inches and 2 feet deep. I'm fishing in maine and the ice went out 2 weeks ago so its very cold. How should i fish this. Other than worms I need to know what I should use for brook trout and landlocked salmon in the 14-20 inch range. any information would be helpful

I used crappie minows this weekend and we just put them on regular hooks and casted them out into the pull and let them sit there and then slowly bring them in.

Use salmon eggs and/or grub worms. Drift them under and around banks, deadfalls, rocks, swirls, etc... You should use light gear, wear camo, as these natives spook very easily. Crickets may make decent bait too.

        Orange jighead, black grub worm.

White maribou jig with black head, or panther martin spinners- Either should do the trick. Brookies love the brown trout pattern panther martin spinners but I would get a few patterns to adjust for the water color and amount of sunlight.

Honestly, just stick with the worms/wax worms. Brookies go crazy for waxies down in Pa. But as for the salmon, I could honestly say I have no idea.
