it is just ice out ( ice went out 5 days ago) and fishing season up here began today and I was wondering how I should fish the stream. But heres the thing, I have never caught a fish in it but know they are there. I measured the temp and found it to be 36 degrees. How should i fish it?

I would fish it by buttoning the trap door shut on my long johns and staying in front of the fire place. I haven't had much luck with trout feeding on anything until the water temp approaches 54 degrees.. 36 degrees is certainly not igniting their metabolism. If anything, try to find warm water pockets that approach 54 if you can. Good luck.
