I like to fish the trout streams in Wisconsin using a spinning rod. I was just wondering if there is a perfect size/length rod to use, is there one that is too short or too long?

Not really. It all depends on the situation. You can get better distance from a 7' than a 6' rod, but you might want to go as short as 5' if you have a lot of obstructions on the bank, ie low branches. A couple different size rods will give you more options.

i agree with kkeltic but would also add that a thinner rod and a smaller reel work great for trout. i use an smaller ugly stick when i trout fish. it makes it alot easier to see if you got a hit.
