        It just happened a couple of days ago and there's few details. Apparently, he was spearfishing alone and accidently shot himself as he headed out into the surf. The spear went through his mouth and nasal cavity, just under his brain... OUCH!

              One thing about spear fishing... you have to treat the spear gun as you would a loaded rifle. I will not go out with a rookie that is not safe. So many rookies seem to think that the spear stops when it gets to the fish or that you can throw it around like a fishing rod.

                It won't stop me. Someday I'll get scuba certified and go hunt lionfish down off of florida and south carolina
