    I bet iff you asked the manufacterers they will all tell you that there is a lot of differences but go with the simplest one that looks worth buying under $50

      arctic tips are really nice they will last along time

        I have been using the same dirt cheap wood tip ups for 30 + years. All that is needed is a sturdy, well attached spool that wont break off if a big one strips your line before you get to it. The expensive type that lie flat on the ice can get lost if there is a lot of snow drifting.

            Polar tip-ups. And because I usually soak mine over night, I don't like the disk ones. The disk that covers the hole is good in the daytime and does help keep the ice to a minimum BUT if you leave 'em over night and they freeze in they are hard to chip out.
