  • 100-year-old sturgeon caught in Michigan.

The fish caught in the Detroit River is also one of the largest lake sturgeons ever recorded in the United States, according to the Alpena Fish and Wildlife Conservation Office. Dubbed a “river monster,” it weighed 240 pounds and measured 6 feet, 10 inches long.

Glad to see a freshwater fish bigger than a man. Haha. Wish they would start to stock them to bring the numbers back up.

Years ago they caught one in Lake Erie they estimated at 1,000 lbs, took 12 men to hold it while it was still in the water - they did not remove it from water and released it after pics. caught off Canadian shore.

I’ve seen some good pics of them. They are one huge fish.
