The Striped Bass at my local lake are located in about 70 feet of water. Is this too deep to jig a spoon? I was thinking of jigging Kastmasters and Krocodiles weighing anywhere from .5 to 1 ounce. Any thoughts? Should I try another method?

It's not too deep for a spoon. You will need a lot of flash because light does not penetrate well to that depth- and also a lot of motion.
Look for spoons with a lot of flash and a lot of flutter.

Down line live bait for stripers at that depth.

I would go with a one oz to get down and keep the drift under better control, I would also recommend a buck tail for a back up. Also, at longer depths I'd go with a braided line, which will eliminate the stretch you get from mono, you'll feel even the lightest strike and have an instant set of the hook.

Finally got caught up at work. Three months and it’s full bore again. They’d better find some decent help or I’m retiring early.
