Twice in as many weeks a Bald Eagle nest East of Knoxville has had to be climbed to retrieve an Eaglet to be taken to the Vet. Why ? It ingested a fishing hook brought into the nest with the food. Lucky the Eaglet is fine and a climber put it back in the nest. Each climb is close to 100'. The second time several pieces of fishing stuff showed up and another climb was authorized ( has to be authorized by the Federal Government) to remove it and give each of the 3 Eaglets a quick inspection. The adult Eagles watched from a distance and did accept the Eaglets back in their care.
Please be aware of your discarded tackle - the Eagles will thank you.

I fish mostly on rivers with boulders, rocks, logs and shallow riffles. I CHANGE MY MONO LINE EVERY TWO WEEKS. I also cut off a few feet and retie leaders or hooks if a client catches a Northern Pike or Musky when Walleye or Bass fishing.
