  • Fishing in other countries

Anyone done any fishing outside North America? I was just reading an old article about trout-fishing in Japan (FS, Dec. 1974). Interesting stuff.

Well, outside territorial waters off Kodiak, AK once. Does that count?
Nice sized rock fish and some so-so halibut.

Great Stripped Marlin fishing down there in San Lucas.
My two older brothers caught nice ones.

I have caught codfish out of Musgrave Harbor, Newfoundland, Canada, and Striped Marlin and Dorado off Ecuador. I feel fortunate to have done so.

Been fishing around Canada but pretty much no different than the states. Think it would be fun to fish the Amazon.

I do all my fishing outside North America ;-)

Freshwater for trout and various natives like Murray cod; in the salt a few minutes from home for flathead, whiting and bream, as well as blue swimmer crabs and prawns; off the rocks for luderick and black drummer; bottom bashing for snapper, or up north after barramundi, coral trout, red emperor and mud crabs. All good fun!
