2 pound test or 4 pound test for ice fishing? this will be for bass bluegill and crappie. also, what is the longest acceptable rod that can be used? I have two 3 1/2 foot ultralights.

Prefer to get my frozen fish out of the freezer section at the grocery store when the weather is this bad. Nice part is that the grocery store is heated and the fish is already cleaned an wrapped. But in your instance, I'd go for 4lb at least and use the short rods and damn long underwear.

my pan fish ice rods are no longer than 24 inchs and i run 4lb for gills and crappies. you need sensitivity for fish under the ice so smaller rods are better.

I'd use 4 lb test because you can get the sensitivity fliphuntr 14 is talking about, and it is stronger
