I'm going cat fishing this weekend and wanted to know what would be the best bait right now to catch them in central texas

I don't know much about Texas fishing. But I do know catfish. And I know that if it doesn't stink, it probably won't attract them that well. It needs to smell because of they're scent receptors. It can trigger them to see what it is. Then they can "test it out" with they're whiskers before they bite it. So make it smelly.

I would use either chicken liver or whole sardines cut into large chunks.
