I am not familiar with Texas catfishing being im from Ohio but baits that work for me that should work regardless of geographic location include live creek chubs or suckers, shrimp, and cut bait. Thats what works best for me. Im not here to put down anyone's bait preference but in my honest opinion chicken liver is a very over rated catfish bait. The baits I mentioned work just as well if not better and are much easier to manage on your hook.
