What is the best kind of bait to use for common carp in illinois creeks and streams

worms work best in my opinion. you can also use bread, cheese, and small jigs. if they are close to the bank you could use a fly that imitates a crayfish or a berry. also if you fish in a spot where people feed the fish and ducks a lot, definitely go with the bread. also there is this stuff they sell at farm and fleet that is labeled "carp bait" so I am guessing that would work.
