FROM MY EXPERIENCES NOW I KEEP A BAR OF IVORY SOAP IN MY TACKLE BOX. I HAVE FOUND OUT THAT IF YOU WILL FISH A OFF SET HOOK WITH A NORMAL BULLET WEIGHT YOU WILL CATCH. WHEN YOU THROW IT OUT THERE LET IT HIT THE BOTTOM AND THEN JUST KEEP REELING IT IN. AND KEEP ON REPEATING THIS EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE.

I catch mine on trotline minnows but night crawlers just off the bottom will work well. I fish mine off trotlines which sit for 24 hours but rods will work off the same principal.

There are a ton of baits to use, choice of bait depends on the cats. Worms will work, esp nightcrawlers, fish chunks, shrimp, chicken, dough balls w/stink juice applied, etc.

Cast live or freshly dead shad into deeper pools and into eddies. You also can try crayfish tails.
