I love fishing in the summer. Fish seem to be a lot more active and I just get a lot more hits.

Year round back when my kid used worms and I used flies he always caught more and bigger trout than me. I always figured it was the worms until he took up flyfishing but the end result is the same with him casting flies also. All in all if everything else fails it is my observation that if anything will catch fish it is worms regardless of conditions and I really hate to admit that statement. I keep seeing a kid with a can of worms, a Zebco, and a huge stringer of big browns or rainbows walking away from the lake or river. I standing in the water with hand tied flies, custom rod, and expensive waders hoping. I never said I was a good fisherman.

Anytime is a good time to fish a worm. You just have to adjust worm size, color and your pace to suit the water conditions.
