How do I know when it is time to start crappie fishing?

its not time, its weather. when the sun is hot, crappie will get shallow to warm up ASAP. I was catching them yesterday from shore in 4 ft of water. As long as the sun is heating up whatever is dark in color, most fish, especially crappy, move towards shallow water.

They were biting in Mississippi last week but I have no idea what the weather there might have been but I agree with evspence as per his comment and from what I remember fishing for these fine fish decades ago. Seemed like the hotter the better in some reservoirs and lakes.

Just put your poles in the water you'll find out when you catch one.

I live in Texas and one of the easiest ways to find out when crappie bite is in full swing is too look for Dogwoods Blooming, when these trees are in full bloom which is happening as we speak the crappie bite is always on.

I’d picked up on it from other discussions earlier this year. Maybe because hunting season is coming up is why this suddenly popped back up.

DNA tests confirm that a wolf was killed by a coyote hunter in New York State. No indication that there's any real population -- speculation is that...

Jim, about 25 years ago our local animal shelter had a wolf that looked almost exactly like the one in your picture, at least as I recall it. They had...

FB, I can’t vouch for that factory load or the website, I did a quick search to look up options for Barnes TTSX bullets for the 6.8 SPC and that happened...

We came down to south Texas to spend a few days with the youngest.
We helped assemble a chicken house/run.
This morning, we all walked out...
