Driving through Colorado last summer I had a hard time finding fishing access. I'm going to be in Fort Collins for 2 months beginning in June. Does anyone have some tips for good public access for fly fishing on the Front Range?

go for a trip up Poudre Canyon and fish the river, if you want to find some big ones try seaman reservoir. If I remember correctly it’s about a mile walk back from the lowers water control gate. It’s located north of HWY 14.

Man are you in luck! The Poudre has good fishing and is public for most of its length. The Big Thompson going up to Estes Park also has fish. If you like bass fishing many of the gravel pits around the Fort have great bass fishing and big carp too. Happy fishing, Fort Collins is a great town!
There is, or used to be a fly shop right in Old Town that has good guys working there who will steer you in the right direction. I think it is a block East of Main Street and College Ave. Sorry I don't remember better it has been a while.

Arapahoe Bend Ponds, Riverbend Ponds, Prospect Ponds,Horsetooth Resevior, Wellington #4, City Park, Poudre River, Big Thomson River, Lon Hagler , Lone Tree Resevior, Boedecker Resevior, just to name a few. There are lots of places to fish around here my friend, not to mention the neighborhood ponds all over town.
