Why arent stripers biting in fresh water not

  • #2
Stripers feeding habits change with the colder water, they feed much slower. In Norwich CT we jig with a 1/2 oz jig on pearl zooms during the day, at night we switch to arkansas shiner. The trick is the presentation. Cast into the drift and wait 30 sec to hit bottom. The slightest twitch while you retrieve the line. Keep in mind that not unlike Steelhead the bait has to smack em on the nose for them to bite. It takes a lot of practice but its worth it. Also the biggins come out at night... Good luck

The stripers in Georgia are biting... keep your hands out of the water. It is tough right now though as the water begins to warm and they scatter.

Maybe you need to give em a $5 instead of a sigle. I am sorry I couldn't resist.
