When fishing the heat of the day, what is your favorite lure for bass?

when its scorching hot go deep or go home. I throw a Yum Craw Pappi on a 1/8 ounce or heavier jig, works every time. The noticeably get shallower as the day cools down.

In the heat of the day, topwater is not where you want to be.

A jig, weighted worm (wacky worms and their slow wacky action are great to entice lazy midday bass), or something that suspends and you can retrieve slowly would be good choices.

There are a few baits i use during the heat of the day, the first is a texas rigged worm or tube.

The next would be a slow rolled spinnerbait or buzzbait worked along lilly pads or shoreline.

i like to use a black trick worm in 5 to 10 feet in brush piles.
