I fish all the time near my hometown in West Virginia and I've had a lot of luck. But I'm ready to branch out and I've been searching for a new fishing ground. Are there any West Virginians out there with some recommendations?

New River smallmouth fishing is excellent. If you want to really have a wild fishing trip, fish the Gauley, and hold on tight.Comment

in the fishing regulations look at grant and hardy county, many places to fish with good results, or zetts which is in inwood wv off rt5 near martiansburg.Comment

IF YOU LOOK AT MY PIX THERE IS ONE OF ME AND A HUGE RAINBOW. IT WAS 27INCHES AND 7LBS. CAUGHT IN THE SOUTH FORK RIVER. THATS ALMOST THE ONLY PLACE I TROUT FISH. I COULD ALSO GET YOU A PLACE TO GO EEL FISHING UP THERE 2Comment

What species are you interested in? The Smoke Holes/Seneca Rocks area, most anywhere on the Greenbriar, I hear the Dry Fork around Harman is good. You just need to go exploring.Comment

Since I am a retired WV Conservation Officer I would like to think that I know some good places to fish. You didn't say what type fish you wanted to catch. I was stationed all my career(35 years) in the eastern panhandle so I am partial to the Smoke Holes, North Fork of the South Branch of the Potomac, North Fork of Patterson Creek and New Creek Lake for trout. We also have some good bass fishing in the South Branch of the Potomac. Good Luck fishing.Comment
