today i bought a frog lure. i have been gettin the bass to bite it but i have trouble hooking them. the first bass to bite i hooked it and was able to bring it in. i lost 5 or 6 cause i couldn't hook them. what is the best way to get them hooked?

When the bass grab the frog you need to wait until you can feel the fish or for two or three seconds before setting the hook. You will pull the frog out of the fishes mouth if you set the hook right away.

i have the same prob. you are supposed to wait a full 2 seconds on those frogs to set the hook. they can be very effective if you can fish them right, unlike me, i have yet to get one hooked.

You would fish them the exact same way you would a soft plastic or worm, wait a few seconds and keep a close eye on your line if your frog goes under so you can see where the fish is going and what its doing, that mostly helps on your hook set direction.

If you add a trailer hook it should solve this problem for you.
Hope this helps. Good luck and good fishing.

count to 3 then get it a firm pull but don't horse it.

Make sure your hooks are sharpened.

If your frog is hollow, like the Snag Proof frogs, don't squeeze the water out of it before each cast.
Leaving the water in it as you cast, allows the frog to remain life-like and the bass will hold onto it a little longer.

Sharpen your hooks again, and cross his eyes when you do set the hook!

Sharpen your hooks and after the bass takes the frog, wait until you see the line being pulled under the water. If you do that, you'll hook every fish that bites.
