I suppose it depends on where you are. However when I was recently fishing in the Delaware River, at the Delaware water gap there were a few things that worked decently well. My friend had pretty decent luck with a Gulp five inch sinking minnow, which was essentially highlighter green. I myself had good luck with a floating Rapala that was a shallow diver. He also had luck with another diving crank bait, that was painted like a crawfish.
