Can any of you tell me what different fishing terms are like Finess and rip-rap. I have heard of these and others but don't know exactly what they mean.

Finesse fishing is one of my favorite types of fishing. You simply finesse the lure so the fish bites it. This means you are using plastics and working them delicately, exp. shakey head, drop shot, small tubes, etc. the other type of fishing is power fishing. This is like throwing crank baits, spinnerbaits, etc.

Rip-rap is large rocks, usually broken concrete, used to line banks to prevent erosion. You find it most often under bridges and similar structures. Those rocks you always see on the bank = rip-rap.

Also, finesse fishing is done slow and methodical for inactive fish. Just thought Id add on a bit.

Rip-rap is often blasted ledge or boulders with sharp edges. It's commonly the size of a kids basketball or so. It's sometimes used for bankings around boat launches as well.
