Is there anyways to fish with a big night crawler for bass and not have Pain fish eat it on the way down, then run out of bait?

First. Pain fish? Sharks? Electric eels?

Try chumming the bream with a floating food such as white bread just a little distance away from where you think the bass should be. While the pan fish are feeding on the surface, you slip the worm down to the hopefully waiting bass.
