what to use really depends on the water depth, clarity and temp.

i prefer to use a downrigger J5 and J7 rapalas in various patterns and colors, but any good medium diver will do if its the proper color.

you stand to catch whatevers in the lake from nice sized crappie and buegull/perch to smallmouth and largemouth bass and trout if they are in there.

Tackle Direct sells Rubber fishing lures online. Usually about $6.99 each and tons of different size/color options, https://www.shaddockfishing.com/products/metal-jig-head-soft-fishing-lure

        Trolling for bass?
As an organized, detailed and efficient practice, trolling for bass (and most any other game fish) has been in play since at least 1946. It most certainly can be done, and its effectiveness has been proven.
I'm a little surprised at some of the answers, too. It seems a few do it, but they're missing out on some key pieces of info....

If the idea of trolling for bass interests you, I have one name for you to research:

        Elwood, "Buck," Perry

        Its google time, folks.

One of my favorite all time bass lures is a jitterbug. Don't know about trolling it though

Never really tried trolling for bass. I’ll get a lot just by drifting. If your looking for lures on what to use I’m sure you don’t have to be to picky on it. Soft plastics to hard lures all work. If your trolling I think speed and where they would be hiding is more of the problem for bass.

One user back up the line stated my favorite. Gold, copper or silver spoon. In weedy areas, a Johnson's Silver Minnow may work, with the red fluorescent teaser on the hook, Kastmasters will work, and sometimes the red and white Dardevils produce. Sometimes, on single hooks, like the Silver Minnow, a pork rind or plastic teaser is deadly. Bass are fairly notional, you need to show them what they want that particular day!
