      I think its a quick way to go to jail. Trapping game fish such as crappie and bass is illegal.

        As Jay said trapping Crappie and Bass (Game Fish) is illegal. I have no problem with using fish baskets legally for catfish.

                pretty sure it's illegal in most states, and I don't see how you could trap them unless maybe with a throw net.
                P.S (crappie is spelled with an A not O)
