It would depend on water temp and clarity. In colder regions where bass have not moved to the spawning grounds I would use a motor oil or grape colored worm Carolina rigged. In the warmer regions where I am sight casting to nesting bass I would go with the lighter colors in clear water and darker colors in murky water but both would be texas rigged.

Texas Rigged:
The hook is placed through the worm and back into the body of the worm so it is weedless, I like to skin hook them where the hook is exposed on the top of the worm, but the tip is lightly pressed into the worm to keep it weedless.
Wacky Rigged:
I just hook it thru the middle of the worm so the worm will fold over both sides of the hook, it has a lot of movement and is great for getting finicky fish to hit.
Carolina Rigged:
Same as texas rigged, but you use a longer leader line and a weight so that as you drag the lure through the water the worm floats behind the weight, great for deep water and heavy cover.
Each person has thier own style and it may vary a bit from my description, but this is how I do it.
Hope this helps CPT BRAD
