I just bought at auction a South Bend bamboo fly rood, made in 1959, 9 foot, that is currently 8' 3"--tip probably broke off. It is in good condition, tight guides, good thread and varnish, cork grip some wear. It has a South Bend Automatic reel OREN-O-MATIC No. 1140 Model D. I assume it was bought like that. Any idea of a price? Thanks, Mike Young

If you find out I'd like to know because I have an even older custom built split bamboo fly rod I'd like to turn into cash.

I have found that a riding mower takes less of a toll on crippled people, but you get more exercise with a pushing style reel mower.
