There isn't a best, if there was they'd be outlawed in tournaments.

That said, my best is a terminator paddle tail worm in oil fleck. Why? Simply because I feel the most confident with it, I feel like I know it best and that I can produce in any condition. Is it any better than any other light action worm? No way, but it does wonders to my presentation because I stop worrying about the lure and start feeling for a bite.

Like countryroad said, there is no best bass lure. Some days theyll tear up one lure then wont touch the next day. There are basics all anglers should have in their box, such as the original rapala, pop-r, buzz bait, some zoom fineese worms in an assortment of colors, jig n pig, spinners, zara spook, tiny torpedo, beetle spins, the list goes on and on. It just depends on what theyre bitin.

There is no such thing. There are a lot of good lures out there and some work best is some circumstances and others at other times. Rapalas, Rebels, Ratt-l-traps, Dalton specials, Zara Spook, plastic worms, lizards, Junebugs, crawdads---the list goes on and on and all you can do is get a selection in different colors and keep trying till you find out what they are biting that day. ---And keep in mind that there are some days when the fish just don't bite, no matter what you do.
