Just bought a 22 ft. pontoon boat, Putting it in the water at Lk. St. Helen, MI. What kind of fish will I be going after, and what kind of gear should I get, Including pole and reel. I haven't been fishing in 25 years, since my kids were young. Now's the time to spill your brains.

Fish for whatever you wan't to fish for. I read up on the lake and it seems like they have a little of every warmwater critter. Bass are my favorite to catch.

The first piece of gear you should get is a trolling motor. Unless you are planning on using live bait. After that, read some books and articles and go fishing with friends who have some experience fishing. Best way to learn is b watching and doing.
